DOJ Sues for Housing Discrimination — Consent Decree Entered
The U.S. Department of Justice sues Donald Trump, Fred Trump, and Trump Management for systematic violations of the Fair Housing Act. After a two-year fight including a dismissed $100M countersuit, the Trumps enter a Consent Decree requiring fair housing compliance, equal opportunity advertising, and employee training.
Trump and Epstein become social acquaintances
Both prominent New York socialites. They attended overlapping parties, events, and traveled in the same Palm Beach social circles. Trump's own 2002 quote places the relationship at 15 years.

At least 8 listed flights on Epstein's private jet
A Jan. 7, 2020 assistant U.S. attorney email, released in the DOJ Epstein files, says Trump is listed on at least eight flights between 1993 and 1996 — "many more times than previously has been reported." At least four also list Ghislaine Maxwell. One 1993 flight lists only Trump and Epstein; another lists them with a redacted then-20-year-old. BBC and PBS reported the email. A passenger listing is not itself a finding of wrongdoing.
Four Casino Bankruptcies — 3,500+ Contractor Claims
Trump's Atlantic City casino operations file for Chapter 11 bankruptcy four times (1991, 1992, 2004, 2009). Over 3,500 lawsuits, liens, and judgments are filed by contractors — from dishwashers to glass companies to Trump's own lawyers — for work completed but not paid. Small-business creditors receive pennies on the dollar compared to institutional lenders.
Jane Doe alleges rape by Trump and Epstein at age 13
A woman (identified in FBI records) alleges she was raped by both Trump and Epstein at parties in New York City when she was 13 years old. The FBI interviewed her four separate times.
E. Jean Carroll alleges assault at Bergdorf Goodman
Carroll alleges Trump sexually assaulted her in a dressing room at Bergdorf Goodman in New York City. A federal jury later found Trump liable and the appeals court affirmed.

Access Hollywood tape — "Grab 'em by the pussy"
Trump recorded on a hot mic: "When you're a star, they let you do it. You can do anything." The tape was admitted as evidence in the Carroll defamation trial.
Trump University: $25 Million Fraud Settlement
Trump University, an unaccredited for-profit seminar series, is sued by the NY Attorney General and two class actions for defrauding 6,000+ students. Trump repeatedly vows never to settle, then pays $25 million — 10 days before trial — after winning the 2016 election. A NY State court finds him personally liable for operating an unlicensed school.
Palm Beach investigation → Epstein plea deal (13 months, work release)
Palm Beach Police investigated Epstein after a parent's complaint. Federal prosecutors drafted a 60-count indictment that was never filed. Alex Acosta — later Trump's Labor Secretary — brokered a controversial plea deal: 13 months, largely on work release.
Epstein emails Maxwell: "That dog that hasn't barked is trump"
In a 2011 email to Ghislaine Maxwell released in the 2025–2026 DOJ document dump, Epstein writes: "That dog that hasn't barked is trump.. [VICTIM] spent hours at my house with him."
'Jane Doe' federal lawsuit filed — dropped after death threats
Filed in New York (Case 1:16-cv-07673-RA). Alleged rape of a 13-year-old by Trump and Epstein in 1994. Dropped in November 2016 after the plaintiff's attorney reported receiving death threats.
Jeffrey Epstein dies in federal custody — prosecution ends
Epstein dies at Metropolitan Correctional Center. Officially ruled suicide. His death ends the federal prosecution, though civil cases and investigations continue. Ghislaine Maxwell is later convicted.
Trump Foundation Dissolved by Court Order — $2M Damages
The NY Attorney General forces the dissolution of the Trump Foundation after proving it was used to pay business debts, buy a portrait of Trump, make an illegal $25,000 political donation to Pam Bondi's campaign committee, and fund the 2016 presidential campaign with charitable funds. Trump ordered to pay $2 million in damages.
"I wish her well" — Trump on Maxwell's arrest
Ghislaine Maxwell arrested on federal sex trafficking charges. At a White House press briefing, Trump says: "I wish her well. I'd wish a lot of people well. Good luck. Let them prove somebody was guilty."
Jury finds Trump liable for sexual abuse — $5M awarded
Nine-person federal jury unanimously finds Trump liable for sexually abusing E. Jean Carroll and for defamation. Trump presented no witnesses and did not testify. $5 million in damages awarded.
Judge clarifies: the conduct was rape by common definition
In denying a motion for new trial, Judge Kaplan writes the evidence "convincingly established" that Trump "deliberately and forcibly penetrated Ms. Carroll's vagina with his fingers" — rape by the common definition.

Members of Congress may review unredacted released Epstein files at DOJ
Assistant Attorney General Patrick Davis wrote members of Congress that, starting this day, they could review unredacted versions of the more than 3 million publicly released Epstein pages on computers in a DOJ reading room in Washington, weekdays from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. The letter, reported by Axios and first reported by NBC News, required 24 hours’ notice, barred electronic devices and staff, and allowed notes. Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche had committed to that member access. NBC News reported the review covers the publicly released set, not the larger collection DOJ says it still holds. The public cannot use the room.
NPR investigation: DOJ withheld 53+ FBI pages mentioning Trump
NPR investigation finds the DOJ had withheld more than 53 pages of FBI interview summaries containing allegations related to Trump, coded as "duplicative."

NBC News and NPR reported that the department released previously withheld pages, including FBI interview summaries involving an allegation related to Trump. Third-party Epstein reading-room tour lists a public itinerary
The Institute for Primary Facts publishes a public itinerary of August 28–November 3, 2026 for the Donald J. Trump and Jeffrey Epstein Memorial Reading Room. The institute says it printed already-released public pages into 3,437 bound volumes (3.5 million pages) and describes earlier installations in New York City and Washington, D.C. The exhibit is not a Department of Justice facility and does not provide the unredacted congressional review.
Traveling reading room listed in Dallas
primary-facts.org lists Dallas, Texas, September 8–11, as a dated stop on the Institute for Primary Facts tour of printed, already-released Epstein pages. The same page names Columbus, Charlotte, and West Palm Beach without dates and marks the itinerary subject to change.
Traveling reading room listed in Des Moines
primary-facts.org lists Des Moines, Iowa, September 24–27, as a dated stop for the same third-party exhibit of publicly released Epstein pages. It is independent of the DOJ library and of the members-only DOJ reading room.

The Washington Post Fact Checker completes its four-year project cataloging Trump's false or misleading claims during his first term. The final count: 30,573 — an average of 21 per day. The rate accelerated each year: 1,999 in 2017, 5,689 in 2018, 7,725 in 2019, and 16,241 in his final year.
